Oscar has been rapping for fun since early college, but he started rapping seriously in 2019 when he started working as the front man the band “Split Type”. “Split Type” was a “Rage Against the Machine”-style band focusing on political and social issues. That is how Oscar got serious about rapping. After a year of writing and playing some shows the band decided to go separate ways and that is when Oscar started his solo project “Oscar Real Lyphe”.

Oscar worked with several producers to release a couple of singles and he has also featured on the Grind Mode Cypher series. His style is heavily influenced by Eminen, Mos Def, Wu-Tang Clan, Jurassic 5, J Cole, Rage Against The Machine and Rise Against.

Oscar is currently also part of the band LYLVC.
